Jan.13, 7:00pm CST LIVE on MBN

John P. ClarkDr. Clark currently serves in the Department of Philosophy of Loyola University of New Orleans and as Instructor in the Environmental Studies Program.

Born in 1945 in New Orleans into a family resident in the city for twelve generations, he received all three of his degrees from Tulane University, so he is a veritable son of the City. Pax Christi of New Orleans awarded him their Bread and Roses award, and Loyola has named him the Gregory F. Curtin Distinguished Professor in Humane Letters and the Professions. He resides in Carrollton.

Dr Clark responds to the invitation to serve as DíOrlando Lecturer by focusing on our process of determining what is sacred to us and even worth dying for, perhaps not realizing what it may be until a crisis reveals what is most sacred to us. He will discuss how his religious experiences, beginning with a New Orleans Lutheran upbringing, modified by experience and study of other spiritual traditions, have led him to an understanding of the sacred in all things. He will, of course, talk about much more, so you are invited to the DíOrlando Lecture for 2013 with Dr John Clark.
