The 3rd Annual Wellness & Water Conference focused on the threats to our water from chemical manufacturing & storage, mountaintop removal coal mining, and Marcellus Shale drilling, and explored measures we can take to safeguard our wellness and water with panels featuring scientists and affected residents, informational tables, open-space discussions and our featured speakers — Dr. Rahul Gupta and two Goldman Environmental Prize winners, Helen Slottje and Maria Gunnoe.
This film follows the lives of Kindra Arnesen and family from Hurricane Katrina through the BP Oil Disaster from their perspective in Venice Louisianan; first land fall of Katrina and closest populated land mass to the Deep Water Horizon site.
Gulf Coast Disasters, long removed from the news cycle, are eating away at the livelihoods and patriotism of those left behind to deal with the front lines of the environmental and economic terrorism that is the legacy of our government.

On February 28th the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force held public meeting for about 12 hours. The initial hours were all about government presentations about various aspects of the ecosystem and constant reminders that this process was and will be a bottom up process with the people who are affected and the people who are doing the work steering the cart of recovery.
Most of the people speaking here are representing one of the multitude of non profit organizations that are and have been working on gulf coast restoration for years.
This was a free concert for all fishermen (recreational and commercial), oil workers, clean up workers, concerned citizens, activists and leaders.
In addition, the first ever Gulf Coast Clean Air and Clean Water Awards were given to individuals and groups who have answered the call to stewardship on behalf of our area, ecosystem and people.

This public comment dialogue session went from 6-8pm on a day that started at 8am. Lisa Jackson and all but 1 of the the Task Force members decided not to attend, decided not to hear the input of the people after telling folks all day how this was going to be a ground up approach and the people's knowledge and expertise was needed.
part 2 includes the fda / epa stance on the the safety of eating gulf seafood.

This is from the 2nd meeting of the Presidential executive order created Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force. This will be distributed very raw CSpan style. After Mardi Gras I'll have time to put it in context with a short wrap up video.

Paul was a rebellious youth that just wanted to swim in the Gulf and eat fresh seafood like nothing happened out there. He didn't want to let the BP oil spill dictate his life, so he kept livin' it.
Wheelchair, seizures, paralyzation etc.
