Walkin' to New Orleans - Day 2
The Walkin' to New Orleans March started Tuesday the 14th of March in Mobile, Alabama and concluded on Sunday the 19th; with an Anniversary Anti-War Rally in Congo Square, New Orleans.
The marchers were war veterans from many wars and hurricane survivors from the 2005 Gulf Coast hurricane season who wished to draw attention to the cause and effect of having a currupt, profiteering government.

A compilation of demonstrations and evictions in the 1st 4 months after Hurricane Katrina. Also, we hear from Katrina Evacuees in New York City about the ordeal and injustice involved in navigating the governments system of relief.
The reality of returning to your old flooded out apartment. In this case it was even on the 2nd floor. Imagine...
Eviction is the word of the day in New Orleans. Many landlords have taken to throwing tenants personal belonings on the sidewalk after an eviction notice has been tacked on their door for 5 days. Under normal conditions 5 days seems a little harsh if there is a lease involved; but in post Katrina New Orleans 5 days don't mean shit.
Chief Al Morris of Northside Skull and Bones Gang (Krewe not NWO) was illegally evicted from his New Orleans home by Igor Margan. Igor and his employee's are in possession of Chief Al's personal property and tools, severely limiting his ability to earn a living.
Boycott Igor Margan's businesses.
Check Point Charlie's and adjoining Tatoo Shop,
Igor's, Garlic Clove, Buddha Belly, Lucky's
I visited Waveland, Mississippi and found these Shrimpers who had ridden out the hurricane on their shrimping boats in order to save the boats. They tell their tale while unloading the days catch.
This was how I spent Thanksgiving 2005. It was truely an awesome experience.
The Rainbow Emergency Management Assembly gathered in Waveland Missahippie within days of the hurricane disaster, to feed people. They have receieved nothing but love and support from FEMA, Red Cross, numerous Church groups and Hancock County. It is said that before Katrina hippies would refer to Mississippi as MissAHippie because a hippie could easily go "missing" in Mississippi. Now Missahippie has a whole new meaning. The story of Waveland is that of people putting aside petty differences to do what's right and needed by our community of man.
This feabile attempt to tell an amazing tale of cross cultural volunteerism features: Vermin Supreme, Dirty Momma, Heather Bee, Pete Jones, Ben Cauldwell, Doc Stone, Organic Valley, the residents of Waveland Mississippi ... and Flower
Take a step back in time at the B. W. Cooper Housing Projects with Malik Rahim cofounder of the Common Ground Collective hurricane relief organization and former Black Panther. B.W. Cooper Projects are slated for destruction while much of the cities returned citizens are sleeping in cars or tents .. or outlying areas. Thousands of people could be living there right now yet the city will not allow them to reopen.
I went on a walk in the 9th ward with some volunteer animal rescue workers.

As part of National Go Skateboarding Day hundreds of skateboarders (with a permit for their event) shredded the streets of Philly on the same day that hundreds of BioTech Activists were also taking their message to the streets. A little behind the scenes coordination lead to the skateboaders joining in with an unpermitted march on the the convention center and a stand off with the cops at Love Park. Love Park is a rountinely skated public park in the center of Philly and was an "official" stop on the skateboarders planned route for the day.
